Hi, I'm Marie
Travel Blogger | Photographer | Creator

Sometimes we look at our current life and think, “How the heck did I end up here?”, pondering about everything that happened during the last years and how nothing really makes sense.
But in reality (and, in hindsight – who would’ve thought :p, ) all the tiny pieces usually fit together just like a puzzle.
For example, maybe working a classic 9 to 5 office job was never the right choice for me and yet I tried so hard to “fit in” and do the “right, the responsible thing”.
Especially, because it seemed to work out for so many people. Get a degree, a job and then just work your way up the corporate ladder to become successful and happy. That’s the goal, right. Right? But what if it wasn’t and what if “so many people” weren’t really happy?

What if all the tiny pieces, let’s not call them failures, were only there to steer me into another direction, closer to what really made me happy?
Going back to my childhood, happiness meant playing outside, being surrounded by farm animals and capturing every leaf and stone and animal with my parents digital camera. Also cheers to them for taking me on all their trips, starting when I was as little as one year old.
I didn’t realize it back then, but spending so much time outside and having the privilege to travel at such a young age really shaped my character and how I’d see the world. It opened my eyes to other countries, cultures and lifestyles and made me crave exploring them even more.
It’s like that old saying
Go back to what you loved doing when you were a kid and you’ll find happiness.

enjoy the journey
Fast forward to this day I can say with certainty, that nothing is ever perfect and sometimes it’s far from it. Still, choosing this path, aka becoming a travel blogger and photographer, feels a lot more natural to me. It feels easy, as in finally being “at ease” with my career choice.
Do I know where this path will take me? Definitely not but I’m deeply enjoying the journey of rediscovering what truly inspires me and I’m beyond excited to take you along. 🙂
